Dr. Salim Lalani
Dr. Lalani is a native of Calgary and he completed his undergraduate training at the University of Alberta. He went on to complete both a Masters’ Degree and Medical Degree at the University of Calgary. Over the course of his medical training, he developed a strong passion for the field of Women’s Health. His residency in Obstetrics and Gynaecology was completed at the University of British Columbia. He fell in love with the west coast and never looked back!
He has a strong interest in research and education. He currently serves as a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology at UBC. He has also spent time overseas providing medical care in underdeveloped nations.
Dr. Lalani is a committed and caring physician whose clinical practice spans the entire field of Obstetrics and Gynaecology. He has a special interest in minimally-invasive surgery and female incontinence surgery and has a passion for surgical innovation.
He is committed to providing compassionate, personalized care to his patients, with attention to detail. He believes that by educating women about their medical conditions and treatment options, they will be empowered to make health care decisions that are right for them.
In his spare time, Dr. Lalani enjoys spending time with family, friends, and his pampered pooch, Lucy. He currently provides maternity care and gynaecologic surgery at Burnaby Hospital, He has offices in both Burnaby and Vancouver. Patients are free to see him at either location. In addition to English, he also speaks Gujarati and Hindi.
Dr. Jenny Muir
Dr. Muir was born in England and grew up in Corner Brook, Newfoundland and Abbotsford, BC. She completed her undergraduate work in Communication and Biology at Simon Fraser University before spending a year studying and travelling in India. She attended medical school at the University of British Columbia and began her residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Queens University before returning to UBC to complete her training.
Dr. Muir has been practicing in Burnaby since 2004. She has a particular interest in minimally invasive surgery (laparscopy), pelvic organ prolapse and female incontinence. She works with recognized experts in the field to regularly update her skills and to provide innovative surgical techniques and excellent care for her patients.
Dr. Muir is a Clinical Instructor, Department of Medicine, at UBC. She is involved in the clinical teaching of Medical Students and Residents. She has served as Head of Obstetrics & Gynecology at Burnaby Hospital from 2012-2014.
